Plot Summary

New! On Telemundo The People’s Doctor Teasers July 2024: Telemundo’s new anthology series, “The People’s Doctor,” premieres on Monday, July 15, at 22:00, taking over from “Come Back To Me,” which concludes the week prior. Inspired by Venezuelan doctor José Gregorio Hernández, born in 1864, the series is faith-based, portraying his life as a renowned figure in South America and the Catholic Church.

Hernández, known for his work with the poor, offering free treatment, and his dedication to medicine, teaching, and religion, was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2021, a century after his death, following the attribution of a miracle.

A 10-year-old girl’s miraculous recovery from a gunshot wound to the head in 2017, attributed to Hernández, played a pivotal role in his beatification process. For sainthood, a second miracle must be attributed to him. Hernández died in 1919 at 54, struck by a car. Each episode of the series promises a deeply spiritual exploration of human resilience in the face of adversity.
