Saurabh Patwardhan, a job seeker, resides with his brother Sachin, sister-in-law Pushpavalli, and aunt Kunda Maimavshi. Meanwhile, Anamika Dixit, a self-employed businesswoman, lives with her daughter Radha Dixit and mother-in-law Rama Joshi, separated from her husband. Pushpavalli and her father constantly exploit Saurabh, while Radha takes pride in her financial independence.
Saurabh and Anamika reconnect through their college friend Chandu Chimane. Despite Saurabh’s feelings for Anamika, he’s bound by a promise to marry only after Sachin’s financial stability. Pushpavalli opposes their union, fearing Anamika’s potential ownership of their house. An unexpected twist arises when Anamika’s mother, Kaveri Dixit, intervenes to separate them.
